Description

Sphagnum peat is a staple ingredient in most (but not all) carnivorous plant soil mixes, and is the primary ingredient we use in our Carnivorous Plant Soil that we offer ready-to-use. The difficulty for someone who wants to repot just a few plants is that the smaller bags that are generally available at the local hardware/big box store are usually 'fortified' with fertilizers, surfactants, chemicals, etc. that can KILL many carnivorous plants! Because of this, and for those who would rather mix their own soil, we offer 100% pure peat here. This is the same stuff we use in our own soil mixes (70% peat and 30% coarse sand or perlite) for potting all of our Sarracenia, Dionaea, Drosera, and Pinguicula.
