Aroids and other Companion/Non-Carnivorous Plants
From our personal greenhouse to you! These plants can include everything from companion plants (non-carnivorous but unique plants that grow in similar habitats to CPs) to carnivorous plant 'wanna-be's' (plants that may attract, capture OR digest prey, but not all three!), to some of our personal favorite plants as well. You never know WHAT you might find listed here from time to time!
For your convenience and to give you a general idea of the growing requirements for these items without having to do as much research, we have now divided this category into the two subcategories shown below: 1) Temperate (growing similarly to Venus Flytraps, Sarracenia, and many sundew species) and 2) Tropical (growing in conditions similar to those for Tropical Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes). The Tropical category also includes many different kinds of aroids (Philodendron, Monstera, Epipremnum and others), of which many can be grown as indoor houseplants in good lighting!
Please note that due to the vast and variable assortment of plants that are occasionally offered in this category, we do not have a Plant Care link for these plants. Please be sure to follow our standard acclimation instructions (found in our online General Carnivorous Plant Care sheet) upon receiving your order. Many of these items can be cared for similarly to one or more of the carnivorous plants, and we are working to add some basic care tips/links to each item in this category.
With few exceptions, Small Potted and Medium/Large Potted plants in this category are shipped in 3-inch pots; Extra-Large plants are shipped in 4-inch pots.
