We became enthralled by the scaly appearance of these unique ferns when visiting a botanical garden, and decided to offer them to our customers! The long, thin leaves have a very attractive mosaic pattern with dark veins. These are tropical plants, and will do well in the same conditions as for our carnivorous Tropical Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes). Sold in pots, but these can also be grown in a hanging basket or mounted on a wooden plank, as you would do for Staghorn Ferns. Neat! They also grow well attached to tree trunks with craggy bark, where they can affix themselves, especially at branch forks. It can be grown as an outdoor plant in the shade in the southern US, but should be protected from colder weather...similar to most Nepenthes species. Shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress!
