Description
For many people, the Cape Sundew,
Drosera capensis
, is their first experience with sundews. This is usually because they are one of the easiest sundews to grow, and make a nice addition to a terrarium or carnivorous plant collection. In addition, their long, tentacle-covered leaves make them an ideal candidate to help control small flying pests like mosquitoes and flies...the leaves will even roll up to completely engulf larger prey items! These are a bit different, though. Unlike the typical form (which has green leaves and red tips on the tentacles), the leaves on this 'Narrow Red' form has very thin leaf petioles, and they will turn quite red when they are grown in good lighting. Very colorful! All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress. Water and enjoy! Please note that the plants you order will be identical clones of the plant in the photograph, but may not exhibit as much red when shipped. This is due to differences in lighting, and they will get more red as you grow them!
