We really like these unique ferns, and decided to offer some of our offspring to our customers! The deep green, heart-shaped leaves are held high on thick, hairy petioles. This gives the 'hearts' a floating appearance...really neat! These are tropical plants, and will do well in similar conditions to our carnivorous Tropical Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes), but just a tad more shady (in the shadow of a Nepenthes works great!). Sold in pots, but these can also be grown in a hanging basket or mounted on a wooden plank, as you would do for Staghorn Ferns. Neat! They also grow well attached to tree trunks with craggy bark, where they can affix themselves, especially at branch forks. It can be grown as an outdoor plant in the shade in the southern US, but should be protected from colder weather...similar to most Nepenthes species. Shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress!
