While Nepenthes barcelonae is somewhat similar in appearance to Nepenthes ventrocosa, it has a feature that has not been seen in any other Nepenthes. As it matures and the vines begin to produce upper pitchers, the first ones to emerge are red with no coiling of the tendril. However, later upper pitchers are solid green, and have the typical coiled tendrils. How unique! Only found in a very small area in the Sierra Madre Range in Luzon (Philippines). A really impressive plant and yet an easy grower! Available for the first time ever commercially. All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress, not bareroot as you might find elsewhere.
