This plant is a one-of-a-kind, and worthy of being described as a new cultivar in our opinion! This hybrid is one that we obtained from Borneo Exotics many years ago, and it had a code of 'BE-9999'...which is a generic code that they use for any plants that are not maintained as part of their extensive propagation efforts. It favors the Nepenthes ventricosa parent in most regards, and is known for its easy growing habits and wonderful tones of red and pink. But what continues to impress us every time we look at this plant are the wonderful CANDY-STRIPED peristomes. While the candy-striped lips on most Nepenthes tend to darken to a more solid red fairly quickly, we have found this plant to keep its initial pitcher coloration for months. NEAT! These are rooted cuttings from the only plant in cultivation, and we have never offered them before; get one while we even HAVE any! All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress, not bareroot as you find with many other suppliers.
