This is the true species, location-specific and SEED-GROWN to boot; so no two are identical! This particular batch of Nepenthes burkei is the result of cross-pollinating two plants that both originated from Mount Halcon, on the island of Mindoro in the Philippines. Generally speaking, this species has a nice undulating 'waist' shape to their pitchers, similar to the trait that so many people enjoy about the closely related (but typically uniformly-colored) Nepenthes ventricosa. However, this species also has beautiful red speckling throughout the pitcher, making them much nicer in our opinion...and just as easy to grow! All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress, not bareroot as you find with many other suppliers. Note: for those who want to keep track of Borneo Exotics' item codes, this is BE-4527. Get one of these now...seed-grown plants are rarely available, and once they're gone, there will NOT be more available!
