Nepenthes fallax (stenophylla?) 'Bareo, Borneo'

This is an uncommon AND controversial species of Nepenthes, and a wonderful plant to grow! While many taxonomists consider Nepenthes fallax to be a synonym (same species) of Nepenthes stenophylla, there are those who believe it is still a separate species based on its nearly circular hood (N. stenophylla has a more narrow-shaped hood). We let you decide for yourself! The pitchers are tall and slender, and are covered with large splotches of deep red. Couple this with a very interesting green and red pattern on the top of the hood, and it's easy to see why this one is highly sought-after!
