Nepenthes veitchii 'Batu Bali - Batu Lawi, Kelabit Highlands, Borneo'

If you're looking for a plant that will produce pitchers with large, flaring peristomes, this is an excellent choice! This variety of Nepenthes veitchii is from the Kelabit Highlands, and does best intermediate temperatures to grow well. These have the characteristic huge, wonderfully scalloped peristome (lip) of the species; and although the peristome is usually a golden brown, some of these have shown varying amounts of striping as well. What is astounding about the plants from this area is that they are among the veitchii variants that will grow straight up a tree trunk, with each leaf wrapping around the tree trunk and clasping the tree. WILD! A desirable plant, adult plants (shown) are a good choice for hanging baskets. All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress.
