A wickedly TOOTHY Nepenthes with CANDY-STRIPED peristomes? As the first photo shows, it's definitely possible! Nepenthes villosa is almost unheard of as a parent in horticultural hybrids; but here we are! With its WICKEDLY toothed peristome, this is one that just about anyone who likes Nepenthes wants to own. However, N. villosa is an ultra-highland species, and can be slow-growing and difficult to grow. But these plants are a hybrid with Nepenthes veitchii - another highly sought-after species, and one that often (but not always) produces beautiful candy-striped peristomes. This hybrid is probably one of the best to come along in the past few years; we expect these assorted clones to exhibit some wonderful hybrid vigor, show the best traits of both parents, and be adaptable to a wider range of temperatures than either parent species alone. While these are slightly smaller than our typical Small Potted size, they are well-started and ready to take off. All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress, not bareroot as you find with many other suppliers. BE-4045.
