As with almost all of the butterworts that we stock, this one is neat and easy to grow, with colorful leaves and the most ruffled flower petals of any of these that we work with! This cultivar is a hybrid between Pinguicula zecheri and Pinguicula rotundiflora that was created by Miloslav Studnicka in the Czech Republic in 1990. The original description states that adult summer rosettes are less than 2 inches across; however, we have found it will reach almost 3 inches when grown in good conditions. The leaves turn a beautiful pink blush in good lighting; but the flowers are the real show-stopper on this one. They are light purple, with interlaced stripes of dark purple and white in the center. The most spectacular feature of the flowers, though, is the way the edges are extremely ruffled...similar to some of the showiest orchids and irises. Wow! All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow for you. Just water and enjoy!
