Pinguicula ehlersiae was first found in 1979 by Ms. Renate Ehlers, and was formally described as a new species in 1982. The original (type) specimen was collected near Guadalcazar in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. There's no doubt it's a nice plant, and we think this is one of the most beautiful of all butterworts! The small, rounded leaves are a deep reddish-pink, with brilliant white edges that roll up and provide highly contrasting lines between the leaves. REALLY NEAT! Beautiful fuchsia flowers with a white splash in the centers too! All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress, not bareroot as you find with many other suppliers.
