Description

Pinguicula moranensis is a wonderful butterwort, and an easy one to start with too! This species of Mexican butterwort makes large rosettes of nicely rounded leaves. As with all of the moranensis clones that are assigned an alpha designation ('A', 'G', 'J', etc.), clone 'J' has a wonderful light pink hue to the leaves as well. But the best feature of this clone is its brilliant fuchsia-colored flowers...the most uniform color and hue of any of these clones in our opinion. VERY nice! At first glance, all butterworts look like any other harmless plant. But the top surface of the butterwort's leaves are covered with sticky mucilage, and can trap scores of small fungus gnats, midges, fruit flies and other small insects. These are an excellent addition to your kitchen windowsill, and will produce lots of brilliant fuchsia pink flowers as well! Picture is representative of full-grown plants, suitable for 4-inch or larger pots. All our plants are shipped potted to reduce stress, not bareroot as you find with many other suppliers.
