Surprisingly enough, not all carnivorous plants want to be grown in a super-saturated soil mix! There are many species that grow on rocky outcroppings or cliff faces, and prefer a more open mix that holds less water; well here it is! This is the same mix we use for potting almost all of our butterworts (Pinguicula); and we have also had excellent success growing Australian Pitcher Plants (Cephalotus) in this mix!. The mix is no secret: just equal parts of Sphagnum peat, our coarse-grade sand, and turface. This just keeps you from having to buy more than you need! Available in quart and gallon Ziploc bags. The quart bag contains enough soil to fill approximately three 3-inch pots, two 4-inch pots, or one 5-inch pot. Please note that due to the heavy nature of the sand and turface, this item adds quite a bit to the shipping costs; We charge shipping based on the actual quoted shipping charges directly from USPS.com, so we have no control over this cost.
