Although the origins of this hybrid are unknown, Sarracenia 'Velvet' is not one to be overlooked. With its undulating hood and intricate patterns of red, white, and green, many people are captivated by the very decorative and elegant appearance of the White-top Pitcher Plant, Sarracenia leucophylla. However, this species gets up to three feet tall, and does best when grown outdoors in full sun...not necessarily easy for all growers to do.
