The Staghorn Fern (Platycerium bifurcatum) has wonderful forking fronds, and is a popular year-round outdoor plant in the southern US. It grows well as an indoor/outdoor or terrarium plant in northern areas as well. It is often grown in a pot or hanging basket with soil, peat or bark. However, one of the most striking ways to display full sized plants is by growing it attached to a piece of wood or bark and hanging it on the wall or patio. The picture shows a representative full grown plant in a large hanging basket; plants shipped will be sized for 3-inch pots. |
