Description

Turface is a high-fired calcined clay product that is also used on baseball fields. In soil mixes it helps to increase moisture retention, while the rough edges help to keep the soil from becoming compacted. It is a perfect ingredient/additive in soil mixes for carnivorous plants that like a more open, airy, mineral based conditions, such as most butterworts (Pinguicula). We have started to transition all of our Mexican Pinguicula into a mix of equal parts of Turface, our Coarse-Grade Sand, and Pure Sphagnum Peat, with excellent results! Available in quart and gallon Ziploc bags.
