Description

This newly available cultivar of Venus Flytrap was only recently described, And is sure to ber a hot item! This cultivar was selected as the best clone from a cross-pollination between 'Royal Red' and 'Sawtooth' clones of flytrap. It was first described and published in the September 2007 issue of the Carnivorous Plant Newsletter. In the description of this cultivar, it was noted that 'Bohemian Garnet' maintains the solid deep red coloration of the 'Royal Red' parent (even more red than the 'Akai Ryu' ('Red Dragon in English)), and the sawblade-like trap edges of its 'Sawtooth' parent. While this new cultivar is known for being smaller than many other flytrap cultivars, it makes up for this small size by producing lots of offshoots, which are all capable of becoming new plants.
