While there are many different red flytrap cultivars available today, this is probably the first all red cultivar. It was selected from thousands of wild plants sent to the Netherlands and widely distributed in the mid-1970s, and is the direct parent plant of the ‘Red Dragon’ and ‘Green Dragon’ flytrap cultivars. Its overall deep red coloration makes it a sought-after plant. Watching the traps chomp down on a nice juicy insect meal is intriguing to people of all ages. As with all of the more colorful flytrap varieties, these plants get their best color when grown in bright light. All our plants are shipped potted, so all you do is water and enjoy.
