Description
Nepenthes 'ventrata' is one of the easiest Nepenthes to grow, and will grow into a nice full plant with minimal care. For those who live in warmer climates (keep the plant indoors if the temps drop below about 50F), these can also be grown outdoors in a shady spot on the porch, hanging under a large tree, or even on the patio! These plants are produced from rooted cuttings of our own plants. All our plants are shipped potted and ready to grow to reduce stress. Plants are ready for immediate shipment!
A quick bit of history here, for those who want to know: This species/hybrid name (x ventrata) is typically used for hybrids between Nepenthes ventricosa and Nepenthes alata; and this specific clone has been distributed and sold by the tens of thousands over the past several decades. When it was first created and marketed, Nepenthes alata (the male parent in this hybrid plant) was thought to be highly variable in its growth habit, and to grow in many different parts of the Philippines. However, taxonomists have now split the different populations into several different species! It now appears that this clone may be a hybrid between Nepenthes ventricosa and the newly described species Nepenthes graciliflora; and in our opinion from observing the appearance of these plants, we tend to agree. Either way, you are getting a plant that is SUPER easy to grow, and will produce loads of nicely colored pitchers!
